CDSB Corporate Engagement Program 2012
CDSB’s Corporate Engagement Program is designed to enhance understanding of the issues encountered by companies during preparation of climate change-related disclosures. CDSB plans to use the findings from the 2011 program to develop the Climate Change Reporting Framework (CCRF) and to ensure that it remains relevant, realistic, practical and beneficial for preparers of information.
The program aims to:
• encourage testing and use of CDSB’s Climate Change Reporting Framework;
• contribute to CDSB’s wider engagement program, designed to align the needs and interests of corporations, investors and regulators;
• identify and publish good practice disclosures;
• identify sector-specific climate disclosure issues;
• work with companies to progress issues listed in CDSB’s Climate Change Reporting Framework Development Plan; and
• elicit views from companies on how to develop the Climate Change Reporting Framework.
How to take part
CDSB is currently working with companies from a representative sample of industries, sectors and geographies that are committed to climate change-related disclosure and that have the experience and expertise to contribute to the development of climate change-related disclosure. Leaders in climate change-related disclosure
Organizations participating in CDSB’s Corporate Engagement Program are playing a key role in pioneering new approaches to integrated reporting. CDSB aims to ensure mutual advantages for itself and for participating organizations. Advantages of participation include:
• allowing companies the opportunity to discuss with CDSB techical experts the reporting challenges they face;
• expert feedback offered on your company’s climate reporting;
• identification, promotion and publication of participants’ good practice disclosure examples; and
• participation in the work of a prestigious group of experts to help shape the climate change reporting agenda through the work of CDSB.
Climate Change Reporting Framework Development Plan
Findings from the program will be used (with participants' agreement) to progress the development plan which is designed to address and progress the following technical and practical issues and to provide guidance and interpretation tools about climate change-related disclosure.
