CDSB's Board on the Move

Are financial institutions taking GHG emissions into account?

CDSB was commissioned by the UK Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to investigate the way in which financial institutions use climate change-related information. Read more about our investigation and download the report here.

CDSB joins the debate on Mandatory Carbon and Narrative Corporate Reporting

In June, CDSB organized a workshop aimed at eliciting investor reactions to DEFRA’s recent consultation on mandatory carbon reporting. The workshop was generously hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and examined the mandatory reporting consultation from an investor’s perspective, building on the outcomes of CDSB’s recent research. Collaborating with the IIRC

As a framework that seeks to elicit information that connects the financial, governance and environmental impacts of climate change, CDSB’s Climate Change Reporting Framework is an early example of an approach to integrated reporting. Read more about this here.

CDSB on the podium for Carbon Tracker’s “Unburnable Carbon” report launch

More fossil fuels are listed on the world’s markets than can be burned if we are committed to limiting global warming to 2⁰C concluded recent research by The Carbon Tracker Initiative. Lois Guthrie, Executive Director of CDSB, joined panellists to discuss these findings at a meeting on 15th July hosted by KPMG in London.

Commenting on the meeting in the Guardian, John Elkington said that he at last felt that “the climate, carbon and financial agendas had been spot-welded together” (read the full article here).  As an organisation focussed on the integration of climate, carbon and financial reporting, CDSB was delighted to be involved in the event and welcomes Carbon Tracker's “Unburnable Carbon” report. BT uses CCRF - 2nd year

British Telecommunications Company (BT) leads the way, preparing their carbon statements using CDSB's Climate Change Reporting Framework (CCRF) for the second year. BT has reported their carbom emissions since 1992 and for their 2010 and 2011 statements have followed the CCRF. Read BT's report here.
